Well the results are in and I’ll be honest the final tally was disappointing:
228 for the parliamentary election (hoped for min 500)
387 for the district election (hoped for min 1,000)
I am not going to go into post election analysis (although privately I am doing one) but I do want to say a big thank you to all of you who did support me.
The result may not be what I would have wanted but I did change the debate in that both The Greens and Labour started talking about climate change by the end of the election where before it did not get a mention from anyone.
The challenge now is to ensure that Richard Benyon who got an overwhelming endorsement from his constituency with his absolute vote rising and his share of the vote up to 61%, takes on board the key issue our time.
